Not Every Aviary
$425.00
Birds, bees, butterflies and other small fliers gather among nests and organic matter, sharing an aviary without needing to become a flock.
About the Work
Not Every Aviary gathers birds, bees, butterflies, beetles and dragonflies among looping nests and tangles of organic matter. They occupy the same air at different scales, each equipped with its own peculiar machinery for getting around.
The nests offer places to gather without requiring everyone to belong in the same way. Wings can buzz, beat, flutter or glide. A shared habitat makes room for creatures whose differences are precisely what allow it to stay alive. Not every aviary needs to be made entirely of birds.
