A practice of

Know where you stand before you commit to a direction.

A fast, structured read across the whole business — all five dimensions — so your next move is chosen with the full picture in view, not guessed from the part that's loudest right now.

What it is

Scout your position to find your direction

Before you climb, you send a scout. The Pathfinder Sprint is a fast pass across every dimension of the business — Craft, Purpose, Result, Horizon, and Traction — to see where you actually stand and where gravity is winning. It's the same instrument that opens a full Vantage Ascent, run on its own so you can act on it without committing to the whole climb.

Why it matters

Direction is cheaper than a wrong turn

Most strategy work starts by solving the problem in front of you. The Sprint starts a step earlier — by making sure it's the right problem. A read across all five dimensions surfaces the drift you can't see from inside the day-to-day: the dimension quietly thinning while another swells, the place a strong quarter is hiding a weak foundation. You spend the next dollar where it actually counts.

How it works

Two to four weeks. One team. A clear direction.

Pathfinder is a focused read of where gravity is affecting a team—and where attention will make the greatest difference.

It is designed for a defined team, business unit, or area of responsibility. We work from a bounded set of evidence, conversations, and operating signals to identify the most consequential areas of drift and determine what should happen next.

A deliberately focused assessment

Pathfinder is built around one defined team or business unit and one agreed business question.

Together, we set the boundary of the assessment: the people involved, the operating period we will examine, and the evidence needed to form a credible view. This keeps the work focused enough to move quickly—and substantial enough to point you in the right direction.

Pathfinder provides a directional assessment, not an exhaustive audit of the organization. Where the evidence points to a deeper or wider issue, we make that visible in the recommendation.

Read

We examine the team through the dimensions of Business Gravity, looking for the forces shaping its choices, energy, and ability to move.

We focus the read around an agreed business question and a defined evidence set—not the entire organization.

We read the team across five dimensions of Business Gravity:

  • Craft — Human Experience
  • Purpose — Position and Promise
  • Result — Business Design
  • Horizon — Market Opportunity
  • Traction — Team Momentum

Locate

We place each dimension on a directional scale—thinned, healthy, or swollen—and identify where drift appears to be creating the greatest cost or constraint.

The result is a grounded point of view: what we can see, what it may mean, and where further evidence may be needed.

Route

We recommend the right next move.

That may be a full Vantage Ascent, focused Groundwork on one dimension, a specific piece of targeted work—or no further engagement with us at all.

What you leave with

A focused map and a credible next move

You leave with:

  • A directional view of the team across the dimensions of Business Gravity
  • The strongest signals of drift and their likely consequences
  • The area or areas that deserve priority
  • The key questions that remain unresolved
  • A recommendation for what to do next

Pathfinder does not attempt to assess the whole organization or produce a complete transformation roadmap. Its purpose is to locate the problem accurately enough to choose the right depth and direction of work.

There is no obligation to continue with us. The map and recommendation are yours either way.

Bravely, we grow.
