Characters are allowed their contradictions. Questions can remain genuinely difficult. Different perspectives can coexist without being flattened into positions or resolved into lessons. Entertainment comes first because meaning travels differently when we encounter it through curiosity, recognition, tension, laughter, beauty or surprise.
