The Space Between

What is and what could be.

LiminalForge works in the space between the present and the possible. It is where an existing condition can be examined without assuming it must remain as it is, and a possibility can be explored without pretending it already exists.

We call it the space between. It is the mindset shared across LiminalForge and the practices within it: a willingness to stay open long enough to discover what could change, paired with the responsibility to decide what should.

Possibility with a point of origin

Change starts somewhere.

Every idea enters a world already in motion. People, histories, relationships, systems, resources, values and circumstances shape what is present before we begin imagining what could come next. LiminalForge pays attention to that starting point.

Understanding where an idea comes from gives us something to work with rather than around. It lets possibility respond to reality without being confined by it. What is becomes material for what could be.

Ambiguity in the middle

We don’t need the answer before we ask the question.

The space between can be uncertain by definition. We use that uncertainty for rigorous ideation: questioning assumptions, changing perspective, making connections, developing alternatives, testing contradictions and allowing ideas enough room to become more specific.

Ambiguity gives us room to explore. It does not excuse us from choosing. Eventually, possibilities become decisions.

Specificity on the other side

An idea needs somewhere to land.

LiminalForge pairs rigorous ideation with nimble implementation. As possibilities become clearer, we define what is being made, why it matters, what direction it takes and what needs to happen next.

The destination does not need to be permanent. It does need to be specific enough to act upon. Then reality changes, new possibilities appear, and the space between opens again.

Forging change

We wrestle with ambiguity. Usually there’s more to figure out.

The space between is where LiminalForge does its work.

FarOut enters it through businesses and strategy. RebelFor through art and symbolic expression. GoodBoy through narrative and worldview. BeHeld through people, place and experience. Other work enters through its own forms.

Different practices. Different materials. The same orientation toward change.

We wrestle with ambiguity. Usually there’s more to figure out.
