Flock of Midnight catches a flock inside the repeating cycle of rehearsal and performance. Birds move through a Rio-inflected disco spectacle of rhythm, formation and theatrical excess, practicing their way toward a show where a prize waits at the end.

Positions repeat but the stakes keep the cycle moving. Rehearse, perform, adjust, try again. What looks like a party from the audience is also work, synchronization and the peculiar discipline required to make exuberance appear effortless. Somewhere beneath the feathers and spectacle, everybody knows there’s something to win.
